Spin City

Now, there are very few times where you will see me jumping to the defense of the Bush administration, and by God, I'm not doing it now, as I see almost the entire administration as a aglomeration of villany, but, seriously, what the hell is wrong with you people? Jeff Gannon, the "White House Correspondent" for TalonNews.com [Link] is accused of lobbing softball questions at the President and being in the administration's pocket. I make no contest to that, he probably is a spineless weasel for the right, but... seriously, folks. How can you be shocked? How? Spin has been around for YEARS. Remember William Randolph Hearst [History Lesson], the millionare tyrant who was hated by most? Yeah, he was one of the first successful perpetrators of "spin", and used it to die a beloved man, despite the fact that he was still heartless twat. Anyway... how can you be so shocked, really?

Oh, I can hear the arguements now. "Well, he posed as a news reporter, and news is suppoused to be fair, and un-biased blah blah yakkety-schmack." Uh huh... so? Hasn't one of the main right-wing arguements been about the "liberal bias" in the media? And hasn't one of my main arguements been about the "conservative bias" in media trends? Yes. The answer is yes. So of course, I'm shocked - Shocked! - that we discover that the Bush administration, an administration that has provided false information to the public time and time again, has now been accused of tainting the media with more falseties. Hello, McFly?!? Hasn't anyone seen this kinda bullshit rolling down the line? From the "Free Speech Zones" ["Link] to lies, damned lies and statistics, this administration has done nothing but attempt to mislead the public.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying "Don't blow that whistle!" Not at all. Shout to the heavens your indignation by finding out they're lying to us again. I'm just kinda stupified by some people who are geniunely shocked over this allegation. Then again, Bush did get re-elected, so I guess a large portion of this country is out of touch with reality. Oh well.
