My thoughts on the election

Whelp, here we go. Kerry didn't get elected. While I can't say I'm shocked, I am saddened. I do know roughly how stupid the "American" populace is, as I deal with a selection of them when I'm doing the computer thing. They, that is, the populace of The United States, has caused my jaw to slacken. One of the main reasons that Bush supporters stated they were voting for Bush was because of morals, or rather, they saw Bush as the more moral candidate.
*blink* *blink*
Yup. Did your brain attempt to force it's way out your ear when you read that too? No? Okay, look at it this way. GW has sent more than a thousand US soldiers to their deaths over a reason that was thin, to say the least. Now, as to whether he really believed his reasoning or not is something different. I happen to think he is just stupid enough to believe it, and Dick is just evil enough to let him keep believing it. (As a side note, don't you think it's a little odd that one of the main cats of Haliburton was in power when the company's main bag, rebuilding national infrastructure, just HAPPENS to come up... in an oil-laden country... with a large population of non-WASPs... just saying, is all.) Now George is back in power, and the whole damn war is going to drag out for a good long time. Fan-fucking-tastic. Either that, or we'll end up invading Iran for some stupid reason ("The spelling is very close to Iraq.") What the hell happened to Afghanistan? Does anyone care to help me out with that one? Rob, do you cats talk about Afghanistan at all? (Not to insinuate that you don't have anything better to talk about, I must say, as being in the Armed Services is a admirable thing and comes with it's own, very hefty responsibilites.) What the hell is going on?
Well, I live in a small town in rural Illinois. It's a very odd town, as we have farmers, laborers, small businessmen/women white-collar workers, college professors, airline pilots, professional drunks, and gap-toothed hill-billies. The mix of people in the bars is almost always a large percentage hillbilly and professional drunk, with a smattering of the others. Now, I've had political discussions with almost anyone who will listen to me in this damn town, and I've been shocked at which people vote/voted for whom, and how open they are to even having a discussion. To many, including myself, politics is a very touchy subject, and it lights the fires within their bellies, which has oft times been filled with with an incendinary mixture of rhetoric and liquor. This either turns into a civil debate, with a respectful but beefy back and forth, or it can degrade into a one-sided "beat-you-about-the-head-and-face-with-my-beliefs"-a-thon (phew!), of which I have only had three. Those are usually a real pain in the ass, because people who engage in these, face to face, are usually unable to control their anger, and will hopefully end up pushing carts at Wal-mart. (Side note: Wal-mart can burn in hell.) Anyway, back to why I brought this up, I was shocked by some people these past few days. Folks who I thought would be staunchly pro-war were anti-war, and those that I thought would be anti-war were horrifically pro-war. It made my nose bleed. Residents of The United States are a lot more varied and deep that I thought.
Except for the stupid ones. You know who you are.
Alright, as it is getting late, I will rap this up with one thought. How many people out there believe GW's statement that "The Draft" will not be reinitialized? I'm not sure which way I sit on it, but I do know that it was a major bone of contention for the election. The entire GOP told us that the draft wouldn't be reinstated. Now what happens if it is... cause you know it will be. Are we going to hold the government accountable? Is there going to be hell to pay? Are we, the people who were lied to, again and again, just going to sit around and take it up the collective poop-chute? I sure as hell won't take it... will you?

Couple of things to point out, hopefully to assist you with your obvious confusion.
Let me begin by saying that I notice a consistant patern from all the liberals I know, have read, or have spoken to, and that is they make statements using only half the information.
They keep what is benificial to their argument, and dump the rest, whatever the subject may be, giving only half the facts and half the picture of the particular issue.
The voting record of both John Kerry and George W Bush is public record, perhaps you should actually read it, you may be surprised.
How exactly is it that we are "fucked" now that George Bush was re-elected? The economy is getting ever better and stronger, the jobs ARE in fact being created. The soldiers that you pretend to care about are certain to get all the tools and equipment they need in Iraq and elsewhere.
As far as the American populace being "stupid" perhaps it is the liberals who should rethink things. Mr. Bush was voted to remain in office by the largest number of Votes IN THE HISTORY of the United States, he won both the Popular vote, AND the Electoral College, and the voter turnout was also larger then ever before. Heaven forbid that YOU could be wrong in your assessment, however it is clear that America does not agree with you.
Morals?? John Kerry was forbidden by the Catholic Church to take communion because of his views, beliefs, and stances.
Afghanistan?? Let me help you there as well, they just had their first completely free and successful democratic election, in which a president was elected BY THE PEOPLE of Afghanistan and not imposed on them by the Taliban. Oh and by the way, the citizens of Afghanistan, men and women alike, children of all sexes and ages can also now attend school, read books, and dont have to wear burqas if they dont wish to, nor will they be beaten or stoned if their faces are uncovered.
George Bush, nor the republican party, nor Donald Rumsfeld have ever stated that re-instating the draft was on the table. That was floated by YOUR party, and has not only been denied by the Republican party and the President, but would in fact take an act of congress to pass into law. Both the republicans AND democrats in the house and senate have clearly stated that they wont even consider the measure if it were introduced.
It would not be feasibly possible to re-instate the draft, one major reason being the quality and desired skill and capability level of todays US Soldier, and the advanced equipment on which they train would prevent it, since if there were a draft by law it would require the service of ALL able bodied males of age REGARDLESS of their education level or capcity to learn. On this I am a subject matter expert, having 12 years of experience currently under my belt as a soldier.
Funny thing about that whole "lied to and misled" bit, the entire WORLD and their intelligence services agreed and made the same conclusions about Iraq, and 17 resolutions failed to bring about compliance from the Iraqi goverment... This is a matter of RECORD publically available, not republican propaganda, not to mention that in the nearly twelve years of sanctions and military restrictions imposed (and overseen by the UN) and enforced, the Iraqi military fired almost DAILY on coalition aircraft patrolling the skies.
As to Iran... Well, I suppose we can wait for them to enrich enough Uranium to actually construct a bomb, drive it into downtown New York City, or put it aboard a plane and detonate it OVER a city (Airburst nuclear detonations are the most effective) and then perhaps we can have the UN sanction them.
A very small amount of study will teach you that extremist Islam is the most violent and deadly religion known, and those who believe that way willingly and gladly die in their efforts to kill, maim, and otherwise terrorize the citizens of the WORLD who are free, not just Americans. For most of them, there is no capture.
Because I am short on time and do not have the energy to sit here and write something lengthy enough to properly rebut all the things you have stated, I will point out one thing. You stated that generally liberals leave out half of the facts, pointing out only what will benefit their argument. I feel that you have left out a few facts, however, Damocles. You stated that "Mr. Bush was voted to remain in office by the largest number of votes IN THE HISTORY of the United States." This may be true, but you left out something that is important to point out in addition to that. There was a very large voter turn-out this year, due to the fact (in my opinion) that many were afraid to die at the hands of P. Diddy. Ol' Bush, however, did not win by the highest MARGIN in the history of the United States. In fact, the popular vote and the electoral votes were both fairly close. Why don't you look into those numbers?

Dude since when did all the jesus loving chodes start reading your blog
Alright check this out homeskillet
to the person who used morals, Kerry, Catholic church in the same sentence i Have a question for; WTF?????
Christianity And people who belong to ivy league secret societies don't know what morals are. Extreme islam is not the the most violent religion in the world.
Jesus is about 700 years older than Mohammed. Christian "Holy Wars" outnumber JiHads 10-1. Lets Not forget all of the inquisitions, witch hunts, protestant v catholic wars, etc, etc, etc.
To Quote the most intelligent Coke Head of all time Sigmund Freud "Your Gods Of Evil and Injustice Don't Exist"
As soon as people start to bring in millenia old docterines that are based sole upon religious values WE ARE ALL FUCKED
FUCK THAT GOD DAMN INVISIBLE MAN YOU WORSHIP
I mean seriously
Lets look at all the backwards things religions tell you about how to live your life
Religion practically states
"DO NOT THINK FOR YOURSELF"
"WOMEN AND PEOPLE THAT DON'T THINK LIKE YOU ARE SECOND CLASS"
"CONVINCE OTHERS __WITH FORCE__ TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU DO"
Now there are really only 2 types of people in the US
Republicans And people who are too smart to be a republican
If you don't believe me
Read Anything on Slashdot or Talk to most people that thrive in an acedemic setting
I really think that the electoral college system should be more equated to IQ/Taxes then population
Lets start evaluating intelligence with Redneck power
kinda like horse power
Now Everything the republicans do is not that bad if you look at it logically
People get really angry when they hear tax cuts for the rich BUT lets look at it
when 10% of the population pays 75% of the taxes who do you think should get the tax relief the other 90%??? Thats fucking Absurd. If your worried about rising health care costs the first Rule of increasing profits is to cut out the middle man in this case THE INSURACE COMPANIES. Allstate, state farm, farmers and many many others are the reason you have to pay so fucking much for your prozac and your viagra. At least the republicans have the balls to say that "Have you seen the way the Government manages things. Do You Really Want us managing your health care?" Hospitals
would turn into DMVs with pictures of the surgen general on the wall. Sounds like fun to me
So from this day forward I'm starting A new political
party. Lets Call it the Logic Party. To become a member all one needs to do is be able to think with their brain in lieu of thier heart, cock, fear, bible, etc.
We need some nifty animal logo
Kinda something like the gnuesc logos
We will be the wingless gods Of a new Millenia
Walking like gentle giants through the valley
In closing a like all of you republican hill-billies
without you i wouldn't look so damn good
-Blaise
Blaise: Well... let now one say that you have a firm grip on anything, including your sanity. I'm in. Where do I get my membership card?
Dam: Well, I appreciated being visited by yet another new-comer, and one who is in the military at that. God bless you sir, and enjoy Korea. Now then, on to the nasty bits. Explain to me how the economy is on the upshot? Have a look at the Bureau of Labor Statistics [link]. Now, look at the National Employment figures, and see how they have dropped, even over the past year. Take a look at the ten-year for the National Unemploment figures. Now, I admit, there was a large percentage of unemployment during Clinton's first 4 years, but it dropped, and boy-how-dee, did it. Check it out.
Of course, you could always go see the Department of Economic Statistics. They have a statistics briefing room, contained at Whitehouse.gov, even. [link] Now then, have a look at anything there (not the short terms, they just look bad. The long terms are the ugly ones.) While disposable personal income appears to be on the rise, real household income has been on the decline for the past three years, and poverty has been on the rise for the past 3 years. Now, I give GW credit in as much as the gross income for farms has been steadily rising, but that is only after a huge drop in 2000. Not only that, but in the past 4 years, more than 25% of small farms have been puchased by farming conglomerates, and added to giant farming conglomerates, which cut costs with shitty methods, ask and I shall tell, and are generally going to send farming in this country straight down the tubes. Don't blame me when we're eating Soylent Ceral (now with 34% more little girls.) I'll be in Madagascar, thank you.
